Very Dark Blue is the pearl blue that Yamaha lists under paint code VDBMA, in use since 2002.

Pearl pigments show their effect once dry. Build thin coats, with the needle on chips and the brush on scratches, then judge the colour. Dark shades show every ridge: build the chip up until it is level, then polish once the paint has cured.
