Dark Red is the pearl red that Mitsubishi lists under paint code P06, used from 2003 to 2007.

Pearl paint gets its depth from layers: two or three thin coats with drying time in between look better than one heavy coat. Light and bright shades cover primer slowly, so a deep chip needs two or three thin coats.
